Wildlife encounters abound when traveling through Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords. While many species are with us year-round, some species are migratory and pass through our waters at different times throughout the summer season.
Below is a chart with approximate times of year for the best encounters of the most popular wildlife visitors; however, these are wild mammals and do not follow our calendar, so sightings can vary from year to year. Rest assured, we will do our best to find as many species as possible.
June, July, and August are the prime months for viewing both our wildlife and the surrounding Fjords, so please book early to guarantee your best chance to experience the spectacular beauty and wonderful wildlife encounters seen on our trips.
